Another home, another renovation.

This story was about a house that was for sale, and a potential buyer who wanted to know how it could look if he changed a couple of rooms during the renovation.

Hunting for a home

A small story about the steps involved with starting the project.

Once upon a time, there was a house, and it was for sale.

There was someone who was interested in the house, but he and his significant other had some fundamental issues with the layout.

Now if only there was a was to see if a renovation might solve those issues before closing the deal.

Plans and digital twins

We received the builder plans from the owner, and I started to create a digital twin.

Which is basically just a fancy word for a 3D model.

Spend a bit to save a lot.

I started with taking the measurements from the drawing and recreating the floor plan.
Next I made the walls and cut out doors and windows.
Then I added inner walls, and sorted them in existing, new and demolish.
Finally I added some details and furniture for a sense of scale.

The conclusion was that the renovation would not solve the issues they had, so they didn’t proceed with the house. Would’ve been a costly mistake if they had
